2016 Auto Expo: Jaguar F-Pace SUV unveiled

Jaguar has unveiled their all-new F-Pace SUV in India for the first time. The new SUV will be a sporty offering from the British car maker in the SUV space instead of the SUVs put out by Land Rover. The new F-Pace SUV will be available in India in the next few months and will be an important car for Jaguar F-Pace in terms of sales figures.

Calling it the Ultimate Practical Sportcar, the new Jaguar F-Pace is also based on the same platform that the new XE has been based on. The new SUV, which has been mostly made from aluminum, will offer great performance while offering an equally beautiful exterior design. Inspired heavily by Jaguar’s new design language, the F-Pace gets an aggressive snout along with sleek lines ending in slim LED tail lamps. The F-Pace also gets 22-inch wheels that make the car look sporty.

Powering the F-Pace is a set of new engines again shared with the XE. The new Ingenium range in the F-Pace starts with the 180PS 2.0-litre diesel that comes as a RWD with the manual gearbox and AWD with the automatic gearbox. A RWD, 240PS 2.0-litre variant, and a 3.0-litre automatic AWD petrol in two states of tune – 340PS and 380PS are other petrols on offer. A range topping 300PS 3.0-litre diesel AWD is the big oil burner who want efficiency and performance. Jaguar says that the top end petrol F-Pace can do the 0-100kmph sprint in about 5.1 seconds and has a 250kmph top speed.

The Jaguar F-Pace will go up against the likes of the Range Rover Evoque, the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE coupe in India and should be priced under the Rs 1 crore mark.
