2016 Auto Expo: Hyundai to showcase N performance brand

We recently reported that Hyundai will have the Tuscon, the new Elantra, the facelifted Eon to rival with the Renault Kwid and the Genesis luxury brand at the 2016 Auto Expo. But these aren’t the only cars that Hyundai will have on display. The Korean car maker recently sent out an official statement announcing that its N performance brand will also be on display along with the Grand Tourismo. 

Last year, Hyundai had released some pictures of the i20 N-Sport. This performance focused 115PS Elite i20 will now be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. In terms of visual differentiation, the i20 N-Sport will come with 17-inch allow wheels, body kits including side skirts, a rear boot spoiler and more. You can also opt for a stainless steel freeflow CAT exhaust system with a large exhaust tip. The i20 N-Sport carries N-badges on the front mudguards and rear hatchback door too. 

Under the hood, the i20 N-sport comes with a 1.4-litre gasoline motor that pumps 115PS of power and 160Nm of torque. All of this power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. Other mechanical changes on the i20 N-sport will include a stiffer suspension that is expected to improve the handling of the i20. The brakes too will be updated with a set of ventilated discs up front and solid ones at the back. All in all, the i20 N-Sport will be a good challenger to the likes of the Fiat Punto Abarth and the Volkswagen GT TSI.
