At the 2016 Auto Expo we can expect to see the Honda PCX 150 being unveiled in the Indian market prior to its official launch by mid-2016

Honda PCX 150

Honda is the undisputed king in the Indian scooter market. 2015 was another record breaking year for the Japanese two-wheeler giant as sales of the Honda Activa family hovered around 2 lakh figure on a monthly basis which was almost four fold its nearest competitors giving us an idea of its domination.  It also rode in the mildly facelifted version of the popular Activa in the guise of the Honda Activa 3G. For 2016, Honda plans to step up its game and enter the 150cc segment of scooters. At the 2016 Auto Expo we can expect the Honda PCX 150 to make its India debut and it would be among the highlights for the Japanese two-wheeler giant.

The Honda PCX 150 gets a European scooter design language which comes as a fresh breath of air in the rather monotonous design adopted by scooters in India. Powering the Honda PCX 150 is a single-cylinder, fuel-injected, 153cc motor producing 13.5PS of power and 14Nm of torque. Whether Honda ditches fuel injection for cost purpose remains to be seen, and it has already imported the PCX 150 in India for R&D purpose. With its arch rival Hero MotoCorp all-set to launch the ZIR 150cc scooter in 2016, Honda seems to have an able rival in the form of the PCX 150. Show goers will also remember the fact that Honda had showcased the PCX 125 at the 2014 Auto Expo and it generated lot of curiosity among the consumers. We can expect the Honda PCX 150 to be launched by mid-2016 in the Indian market with an estimated price of around Rs 90,000 ex-showroom.
