2016 Auto Expo: DSK-Benelli to showcase Tornado 302, TRK 502 and Leoncino

At the 2016 Auto Expo that is due to commence in a week, DSK-Benelli will showcase three bikes as their new offerings to the India market

Benelli TRK 502

The DSK-Benelli pavilion at the 2016 Auto Expo will host all the bikes which the manufacturer offers in India. In addition, DSK-Benelli will be showcasing three new bikes too: the fully faired Tornado 302, the TRK 502 adventure motorcycle, and the Leoncino scrambler.

Benelli Tornado 302

Benelli Tornado 302: Benelli had launched the TNT 300 in 2015 in India, and its fully faired version is here now. First unveiled at the 2015 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, the Benelli Tornado 302 will now be seen at the 2016 Auto Expo pavilion held in Delhi. Powering the Benelli Tornado 302 is a 300cc parallel twin-cylinder motor which is capable of producing 36PS of power at 12,000rpm and 27Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. Style-wise the Tornado 302 has a new trellis frame with edgy and modern look which will appeal to the youth. The Benelli Tornado 302 is expected to be launched with a retail price of Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Benelli TRK 502

Benelli TRK 502: For all the bike enthusiasts who like to hit the off-beaten track, Benelli will be showcasing the adventure bike TRK 502 at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. The TRK 502 is an all-new bike by Benelli which was also unveiled at the recent 2015 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The Benelli TRK 502 has strong resemblance to the Ducati Multistrada and sports a similar beaky front-end and twin headlights. Powering the TRK 502 is a 500cc liquid cooled, twin-cylinder engine which produces 48PS of power and 45Nm of torque which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Being an adventure tourer, the Benelli TRK 502 gets a 20-litre fuel tank, with adjustable upside down forks at the front and monoshock at the rear swingarm. Braking will be performed by dual petal discs at the front and a single petal disc at the rear. When launched, the Benelli TRK 502 is expected to carry a sticker price under the Rs 5 lakh mark.

Benelli Leoncino: Benelli will also showcase a retro-style scrambler motorcycle at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Leoncino. Designed by CentroStile Benelli, the Leoncino get dual-tone paint scheme with spoked wheels and off-road tyres and an all-LED headlight to complete the retro-modern look. The Leoncino is powered by a 500cc 4-stroke liquid cooled, parallel twin mill which delivers an output of 48PS of power and 45Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by USDs at the front and monoshock at the rear. Mounted on the front are 320mm dual-disc brakes while a 260mm single disc takes care of proceedings at the rear.
