We visited the 2016 Auto Expo at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida for its first two days and listed out certain bikes if you are planning to give it a visit. Here are the ones that you definitely should not give a miss

Honda NAVI

Honda Navi

Honda created an entirely new segment of fun two-wheelers in India by launching the all-new Navi scooter on the opening day of the 2016 Auto Expo. Also known as mini-bikes, products like the Navi are targeted at young, urban buyers wanting a means of transport for the city that's stylish and fun to ride. Powered by a 110cc, liquid-cooled single cylinder engine that produces a peak power output of 8 PS and peak torque of 8.96Nm, the Honda Navi was one of the most talked-about two-wheelers at the event.

Suzuki Access 125

Suzuki Access

In order to lift up its position in the two-wheeler market, Suzuki Motorcycles introduced a revamped version of one of its products in the form of the Access125 on the opening day of the 2016 Auto Expo. The scooter is a mid-life facelift rather than a generation change, but the design has been recreated all around. The scooter remains identical to the outgoing model mechanically as it still employs the 125cc single cylinder motor, producing 9PS of max power and 10Nm of peak torque.

Xtreme 200S

Hero Xtreme 200S

It was a surprise to see the Xtreme 200S concept among the unveilings at the Hero pavilions during the Auto Expo; but indeed a pleasant one. What makes the new motorcycle special is the fact that it is the most powerful naked Hero motorcycle yet. Given that performance bikes especially between 150-200cc has seen a huge rise in demand, the Xtreme 200 S is Hero’s attempt in tapping into this market. Hero has equipped the Xtreme 200S with a 4-stroke 200cc engine which is an all-new powerpant. The bike delivers a maximum power of 18.6PS at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque of 17.2Nm at 6,000 rpm.

Yamaha unveiled its latest scooter offering christened the NMAX. The new scooter has been developed as a global scooter and was launched in Indonesia first. The styling of the Yamaha NMAX is similar to a maxi scooter and features a European style step thru design. Powering the new Yamaha scooter is a 155cc, liquid-cooled motor producing 15PS of power and 14.4 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via a CVT transmission.

MT-09

Yamaha MT-09

Yamaha launched the new MT-09 performance streetbike at the 2016 Auto Expo today. The new motorcycle has been priced at Rs 10.2 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The Yamaha MT-09 is a street oriented performance bike and adopts styling similar to the MT-07 with a petite headlamp and a chiselled fuel tank with minimum use of body panels. The Yamaha MT-09 is powered by an 850cc, triple-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor producing 115PS at 10,000rpm and 87.5Nm at 8,500rpm. The powerplant is mated to a 6-speed transmission. It also sports a traction control system with two different riding modes, while ABS is optional. The bike employs USD front forks and monoshock unit at the back while braking is done by disc brakes.

Ray ZR

Yamaha Cygnus RayZR

In an effort to shore up sales of the Cygnus Ray Z scooter and make it appeal more to the male species, Yamaha Motor India has taken the wraps off the Cygnus Ray ZR at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi. Ever since its launch, the Yamaha Ray Z has suffered from an identity crisis, having first been pegged as a unisex scooter, and later unveiled for the fairer sex with feminine-biased graphics.

Now, with the Ray ZR variant, Yamaha hopes that the scooter will finally catch the attention of the male species too. The Ray ZR retains the same powertrain as the Ray Z: an air-cooled 4-stroke, 2-valve, 113cc “BLUE CORE” engine. Yamaha claims that the Ray ZR will offer best-in-class mileage.

Akula

TVS Akula Concept

Ever since the BMW G310R motorcycle - which has been developed by the German bikemaker but will be manufactured by TVS Motors - was unveiled, we were waiting for the Hosur-based manufacturer to showcase its take on it. TVS lived up to those high expectations as it unveiled the TVS Akula 310 at the 2016 Auto Expo. What makes the Akula 310 more intriguing is that the concept motorcycle is a fully faired offering. TVS hasn’t revealed any power output details but we know for sure the fact that its engine will be a 300cc, single-cylinder motor.

TrK

Benelli TrK 502

The DSK-Benelli TrK 502 adventure motorcycle made its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new motorcycle is expected to be priced under Rs 5 lakh, ex-showroom. Powering the new Benelli TrK 502 will be a newly developed 500cc, parallel-twin motor churning out 48PS of peak power at 8,500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The styling of the TrK 502 has been inspired from the Ducati Multistrada with its beaky front fairing and twin headlamps that makes it a handsome looking motorcycle.

Tornado

Benelli Tornado 300

DSK-Benelli unveiled the new Tornado 300 fully faired motorcycle for the Indian two-wheeler market at the 2016 Auto Expo. Underneath the fairing lies a 300cc, liquid-cooked, parallel-twin motor producing 36PS at 12,000rpm and 27Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm. The twin-cylinder motor is the same as seen on the Benelli TNT 300 and power is transmitted to the rear-wheel via a 6-speed transmission.  Benelli claims that the Tornado 300 has a top speed of 170kmph which we can't wait to check out.

SR 150

Aprilia SR 150

Aprilia pulled a rabbit out of a hat at the 2016 Auto Expo as it launched the SR 150 scooter in the Indian market. What makes the Aprilia SR 150 even more interesting is the fact that it will be built in India by its parent company Piaggio. The Aprilia SR 150 will be manufactured at the Baramati production facility of Piaggio and be the first offering from Aprilia to be built in India. Although Aprilia hasn’t disclosed the exact powertrain specifications, we reckon the SR 150 will be powered by a 150cc SOHC air-cooled four-stroke engine with power and torque to match the best in class.

Bonnie

Triumph Bonneville Range

Triumph India launched two versions of its new generation Bonneville, the Street Twin and the T120 at the Auto Expo. The Street Twin is the most affordable Bonneville, and is priced at Rs 6.90 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi, while the more powerful T120 is priced at Rs 8.7 lakh ex-showroom. The Street Twin is powered by an all-new, 900cc parallel-twin engine that gets liquid-cooling for the first time in the bike's history. The T120 is the larger and more powerful bike of the two, and uses a liquid-cooled, 1200cc parallel-twin motor that makes an impressive 105Nm of torque.

BMW

BMW G310R

BMW Motorrad showcased the G310R motorcycle for the first time in the Indian market at the 2016 Auto Expo. The G310R has been designed in Germany and will be manufactured at TVS's production facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
