Kawasaki has unveiled the 2015 version of the Ninja ZX-6R. The new ZX-6R will also be available in a special anniversary edition to commemorate the Kawasaki Ninja’s 30 year presence in the American market. The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 30th Anniversary edition will be finished in a dual shade of Lime Green and Pearl Stardust. To further set it apart from the standard model, the bike will sport a 30th anniversary badge on either sides of the fairing. Standard colour options on the new bike will include Metallic Matte Carbon Gray and Flat Ebony.

No changes have been made to the bikes design except for the new colour options. It’s the same story on the mechanical front as well. Powering the 2015 Kawasaki ZX-6R is a 636cc, liquid-cooled motor churning out 131PS of power at a heady 13,500rpm, while torque figure stands at 71Nm at 11,500rpm. To keep all this power in check, Kawasaki has equipped the 2015 Ninja ZX-6R with a traction control system.  But unlike the one found on its litre-class sibling, the traction control system with three different modes on the Ninja ZX-6R has been borrowed from the one found on the flagship offering, ZX-14R.

Since most of the Kawasaki ZX-6R owners prefer to ride the bike on both track and as well as the open highways, the traction control system has been tuned for this purpose.  In Mode 1, the system offers maximum amount of performance that should be helpful on a racetrack, Mode 2 is for street riding, where the power delivery is mellowed down a bit and Mode 3 is for riding on slippery surface when the grip is less.

Dampening duty is done by 41mm inverted Showa SFF-BP fork at the front and gas charged, fully adjustable Uni-Trak suspension at rear. For stopping, the 2014 Kawasaki ZX-6R employs Dual 310mm petal discs with radialy mounted four-piston callipers at front and single 220mm petal disc brakes at rear. ABS is optional on the new Ninja ZX-6R and is priced at a $1,000 premium. The 2015 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 30th Anniversary edition has been priced at a $300 premium over the standard offering in the American market at $11,999 or Rs 7.12 lakh, while the ABS version has been priced at Rs 7.71 lakh.
