Honda will launch the all-new Jazz on July 8, and ahead of its launch, dealerships have started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 51,000.
After the official launch on July 8, the new Jazz will be displayed at Honda dealerships across the country and deliveries, according to colour and variant, are expected to begin by July-end or early August.
Although built on the same platform as the City’s, the all-new Honda Jazz has got refreshed styling with its sharp lines and somewhat sporty looks, especially at the front. On the inside too, the new Jazz is roomier than its predecessor and shares similarities to the interiors of the City.
The new Jazz will get two engine options – the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine making 90PS peak power and 109Nm of torque as well as Honda’s 1.5-litre diesel i-DTEC mill, which makes 100PS power and 200Nm torque. The petrol version will also be available in an automatic CVT with paddle shifters, which is said to be more efficient than the manual gearbox.
Prices of the new Jazz will be announced once it’s launched on July 8. We expect it to be priced at Rs 5.25 lakh for the base petrol, and about Rs 7 lakh for the top variant. The diesel is expected to cost about a lakh more than the petrol, for each variant. So, that will put the Jazz squarely in the territory of the Hyundai Elite i20 as well as the Volkswagen Polo.
