2015 Ford Figo Details Revealed

Following its debut in the compact sedan segment with the Figo Aspire, Ford is all set to bring its popular hatchback Figo in a new avatar. Spy shots of the car have gone viral on the internet for a while now but details of its engine and variants were unknown so far. 

With its launch scheduled for tomorrow, engine, variant and some other details have surfaced. Under the hood, the Figo hatchback will sport the same engine that we have already seen on its compact sedan sibling. It will get 2 petrol engine options – a 1.2-litre unit and a 1.5-litre engine. It will also come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine option. The smaller capacity petrol unit will use a 5-speed manual transmission to transfer all of its 70PS of power and 102Nm of torque to the front wheels. The other petrol unit makes 112PS and 136Nm and will come mated to a 6-speed dual clutch transmission. Of all the engines on offer, the 1.5-litre diesel making 90PS and 204Nm is expected to be the most popular. This unit too comes married to a 5-speed manual transmission. 

As far as the variants are concerned, the Figo will get the same variants options that we have seen on the Figo Aspire – four variants each for petrol and diesel. The automatic Figo will only be offered in the Titanium trim. The Blue Oval will offer two airbags as standard equipment on all its variants. 

The Ambient variants will come with rear fog lamps, fabric upholstery, tilt steering, front power windows and remote locking. The Trend trim will come slightly more equipped with front fog lamps, steering mounted audio and phone controls, rear power windows, tachometer and more. From ABS, EBD, Rear defogger, alloy wheels, electric folding ORVMs, climate control and the works, the Titanium variant will come with it all. Spend a little more on the Titanium Plus teim and you get leather upholstery voice activated Sync Applink, 6 airbags, and a multifunction display. 

Ford will launch the Figo hatchback tomorrow. We expect it to be priced ranging between Rs 4.25-Rs 7 lakh. Stay tuned for live updates from the launch tomorrow.
