2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 pricing revealed

General Motors had uncaged its beast – the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 at the Detroit Motor Show earlier in January this year. Touted by the American marque as the most powerful and technologically advanced model in the brand’s 62-year-old history, the nasty vehicle, as GM calls it, will carry a price tag of Rs 47.7 lakh, while its convertible model will retail at Rs 50.7 lakh (both the prices exclusive of taxes and duties).

Harlan Charles, Product and Marketing Manager, Corvette, said, “The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06's performance and technical competence establishes it ‘in the elite fraternity of supercars’. Very few cars in the world deliver 650 horsepower, true aerodynamic downforce, carbon fibre and performance technologies such as Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Traction Management and an electronic limited slip differential – and none give the driver a transmission choice or the choice of a coupe with a removable roof panel or a full-power-top convertible.”

The 2015 Corvette Z06 is built on the same aluminum chassis as the standard 455PS Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, but what differs it from the former is the list of upgrades that it receives including a bump in the power output, suspension and aerodynamic tweaks, 12-inch-wide wheels with 335 series tyres and carbon ceramic brakes.

A 6.2-litre V8 engine runs under the hood of the Corvette Z06 to churn 650PS of power and a staggering 881Nm of torque making it the most powerful car produced by General Motors ever.

Chevrolet offers several performance packages for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Carbon Fibre Ground Effects package is offered for an additional price of Rs 1.8 lakh approximately, which includes a functional carbon fibre front splitter, carbon fibre rocker panels and a larger rear spoiler.

The Z07 performance package is available approximately for Rs 4.8 lakh, and adds Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors that improve braking performance and contribute to better handling of the vehicle. This package also includes adjustable front and rear aerodynamic components to the Carbon Fibre Ground Effects package for unprecedented aerodynamic downforce and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tyres.
