After a long wait, Ducati has finally taken the wraps off the Scrambler at INTERMOT

Ducati Scrambler Icon

Ducati officially unveiled the much awaited Scrambler at the INTERMOT show in Cologne, Germany and we can say that it seems extremely true to its name.

What makes the Scrambler stand out is how bare to the bones it is. The front sports round headlights that sit are located nicely between the tall and wide handle bars. The long seat offers a comfortable seating posture. The big, black alloy wheels give the Ducati Scrambler an aggressive stance. The Scrambler will be made available in four versions – Icon, Urban Enduro, Full Throttle and Classic - each offering its own style and performance-related interpretation of the Scrambler spirit.

Mounted on a  a steel-tube trellis frame all the versions of the Scrambler will be powered by the same V-twin from the Monster 796 but has been retuned now stands at 803cc engine with an 88 mm bore, a 66 mm stroke and has been optimised to deliver smooth acceleration throughout the rev range. In this state of tune, it pumps power of 75 horses and 68Nm of torque.

At the time of the unveiling, Cristiano Silei, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Ducati Motor Holding said, "Presenting the new Ducati Scrambler brand means for us opening the doors to an entirely new, fascinating, and absolutely contemporary world. We have reinterpreted an iconic motorcycle, part of our history for more than 50 years, in a fully modern way, designing and building the Ducati Scrambler as if we’d never stopped making it.”

The Ducati Scrambler will be made available in the international market starting form the end of January 2015 and the first of the four versions to become available will be the Icon.
