Honda and Chandigarh Traffic Police join hands for road safety

Honda is set to makeover the Chandigarh Traffic Park in Sector 23-A and create a specially designed, protected environment within the 15 acres.

At the Children Traffic Park, Honda will provide ‘Lifetime Safety Education’ for all age groups – starting from 5-year-old school children to adults with a special focus on females wanting to have a freedom of independent mobility.

Speaking on the occasion, Yadvinder S Guleria Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “As a leading corporate citizen Honda understands that its responsibility goes beyond production of two-wheelers to expand safe riding environment in India. The basic issue is not only infrastructure but mindset of road users. After empowering a phenomenal 60,000 participants within 1.5 years through our four existing traffic parks, Honda is committing itself to make Safe Riding an everyday habit of two-Wheeler riders in Chandigarh.”

Some of the key highlights of Honda’s commitment shall be:

  • Expert Honda Safety instructors (female and male) to educate new riders on correct riding techniques
  • Honda’s Proprietary riding trainers which shall aid people above 13 years of age to experience over 100 possible dangers on road. The virtual experience significantly increases rider’s ability to predict and react to traffic hazards. The same can also provide instructions in Hindi language.
  • Specially imported CRF 50 motorcycles so that children learn riding motorcycles the ‘fun way’.
  • Exchange of road safety know-how – a boon for many existing and new riders.

Also present at the MoU signing ceremony were Anil Kumar IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration and RP Upadhyaya, Inspector General Police, Union Territory, Chandigarh.
