2012 Honda One Make Race: Round 5 results

Motorsport fans witnessed some nail-biting action during the final round of the Honda One Make Race championship at the MMSC circuit in Chennai. For the fifth and final round over 90 riders from across the country battled for glory in various categories of the event.

To provide budding riders with a unique racing platform there was a special novice category for riders below 23 years who were provided CB Twister for racing whereas riders above the age limit had an opportunity to participate in the open category consisting of CBF Stunner and the CBR150R.

The premier-250cc class was the cynosure as eight expert riders battled for glory. Sarath Kumar of MP Ten10 Racing dominated the class, winning both the races. Honda had leased out the CBR250R motorcycles to FMSCI registered teams. There was also a Team Championship in which Tem Moto Rev India claimed top honours and was awarded with a spanking new CBR150R bike.

Ananth Raj rode a brilliant race onboard the CBR150R keeping Vivek Mani at bay as he took the chequered flag at the end of six laps. Mathana Kumar finished with top honours in a 25-rider field in the CBF Stunner class. In a 20-rider CB Twister race MD Intekhab Alam crossed the finish line 0.18 second ahead of second placed Setu Babu.

The race winners received Rs 7500, while the second and third place finishers received Rs 5000 and Rs 2500 respectively. The top three finishers in the CBF Stunner, CBR 150R and CBR 250R championships received cash prizes of Rs 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 respectively.
