The Porsche Panamera has been quite a successful car for Porsche with its family sports sedan appeal, good engines and an excellent interior. The next generation Panamera has been spied for the first time wearing its own body as opposed to earlier spy shots of prototypes that wore the current generation body style.
The differences are obvious immediately with its much better-looking silhouette as compared to the current one. The stubby tail that characterizes a Porsche in general though is still there but the roofline on the new car seems to gel better with the overall look of the car. The new car will adopt an evolutionary design as compared to the current version and will feature new headlamps, tail lamps and other small differences.
The new Panamera will be based on the MSB platform and will be much lighter than its current generation car as a result of extensive use of alloy steels and composite materials. The new Panamera will also be powered by a set of V6 and V8 engines with both petrol and diesel options. The Panamera will be available with both all-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive options.
There are also rumors of a two door and a convertible Panamera that will compete against the likes of the new S-Class coupe and Cabriolet but those are not expected for atleast a few more years. The new 4-door Panamera on the other hand is expected to be launched sometime in 2016.
