The first batch of 200 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800s has been delivered to customers by a Maruti Suzuki dealer in Mallapuram, Kerala. The new Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 had racked up over 10,000 bookings before its launch.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 was launched on October 16, 2012 at a starting price of Rs 2.44 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). Available in three variants, Std, LX and LXi along with CNG models for all variants the price range for the new Alto 800 stretches from Rs 2.44 lakh to Rs 3.56 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi) for the top-of-the-line CNG LXi model.

The new Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 has been modified to be more modern and efficient than its predecessor. The car is a good overall package, and pricing is where it trumps its rivals. It is considerably cheaper than its rivals, the Chevrolet Spark and Hyundai Eon on a variant to variant comparison.
