The Coupe will be available in three versions. Goes on sale in March, 2014 and will be much cheaper than the convertible.

Another double unveil like the Porsche Macan was the Jaguar F-Type coupe. Showcased for the first time at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show and the LA Motor Show, the coupe was an expected addition to the F-Type range after the convertible broke cover in 2012.

The F-Type Coupe will be powered by three engines. The range topping F-Type R has the 5.0-litre V8 under the hood with 550PS on tap and 680Nm of torque at the slight flex of the right foot. It will get you to the tonne from standstill in 4.0 seconds on your way to a limited top speed of 300kph.

The F-type S and standard models develop 380 and 340PS respectively from their 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engines. The R coupe features a Electronic Active Differential (EAD) that pioneered on the new Range Rover Sport. It works in tandem with the torque vectoring and braking system to provide the right amount of torque at each wheel. Further enhancing the car’s handling, these systems work in unison with the Adaptive Dynamics System to control vertical body movement and roll and pitch rates. Jaguar says that the F-Type Coupe is the most dynamically capable, performance-focused, production Jaguar ever and we have no reason to doubt it.

All that power and torque requires good brakes to compliment it so Jaguar is offering 380mm front discs and 376mm rear discs as standard on the coupe with an option of 398mm front and 380mm rear carbon-ceramic discs on both F-Type R and F-Type S Coupe models.

The eight-speed Quickshift transmission is borrowed from the convertible but Jaguar has tweaked with the R Coupe’s software to suit its higher output.
