Audi has revealed the Allroad Shooting Brake Concept at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show. This concept shows a glimpse of future Audi design applications states the Ingolstadt based manufacturer. The first of its applications will be the next generation TT which will be a hybrid.

The dome cross-section bonnet, flared wheel-arches and strong horizontal shoulder line are all design cues from the existing TT and the horizontal nose and large gaping grille keep things fresh yet maintain the TT’s identity.

The interiors are new as well. While the styling looks typically Audi, interesting details like the propeller design air vents and clutter free centre console stand out. Innovative bits like the air-con controls on the vent itself are quite thoughtful.

The concept has two electric motors linked to the 2.0-litre TFSI engine with 292 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque on tap. The electric motor sending power to the front wheels in itself develops 55 PS of power. The second one is mounted on the rear axle and shells out 115 PS of power and in unison, the system develops 408 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque.

Depending on the driving situation, lifting off the gas will either decouple the engines or result in energy recovery. This makes the concept highly fuel efficient returning upwards of 50kmpl and giving a driving range of more than 800km on a single tank.
