Iconic two-wheeler brand Royal Enfield continues its good run in January 2015, reporting a 43 per cent jump in total sales.
In all, Royal Enfield sold 28,927 units as against 20,232 units in the corresponding month a year ago.
Of these, it’s the smaller capacity 350cc motorcycles which make up most of the sales. Sales of motorcycles with engine capacity up to 350cc increased by 46 per cent, at 25,799 units against 17,639 units in January 2014.
In comparison, motorcycles with engine capacity exceeding 350cc sold only 3,128 units – a jump of 21 per cent nevertheless, from 2,593 units in January 2014. Royal Enfield exports jumped by 82 per cent in January, up from 424 units a year ago to 770 units.
