Hyundai has registered a 4.1 per cent increase in its sales in the domestic market for the month of January 2015. The company has sold 34,780 units locally and exported 10,004 units with cumulative sales standing at 44,784 units.

Commenting on the January sales, Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, “Hyundai sold 34,780 units in the domestic market with a growth of 7per cent over last month. This growth came in on the momentum built by leading products like new Elite i20, Grand and Eon while facing the stiff challenges of increasing cost of ownership on account of increase in excise duties. For sustained growth the need of the hour is reduction in interest rates and rationalisation of taxes to increase the inflow of the first time buyers."

Hyundai's current portfolio in India includes the Hyundai Eon, Hyundai i10, Hyundai Grand i10, Hyundai i20, Hyundai Xcent, Hyundai Verna, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Santa Fe. The carmaker is all set to launch the 2015 Hyundai Verna facelift this month in India.

Hyundai currently exports to around 85 countries across Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Asia Pacific. The carmaker currently has 407 dealers and more than 1,085 service points across India.  The company also has a R&D facility in Hyderabad to provide customers with cutting-edge global technology.
