Honda record 17% growth in January 2015

The start of the New Year brought with it fair tidings for Honda Cars India Limited as they recorded a growth of 17 percent in their domestic sales. The Japanese car maker sold 18,331 units last month as opposed to 15,714 units in the corresponding month last year. Sales for Honda have not only increased in the local markets but there has been a rise in the export sale as well. With a total of 1,369 units sold the company recorded its highest ever monthly sales inclusive of exports. 

With 6,709 units of the Amaze and 7,671 units of the City, the two cars brought in a chunk of the sales. Honda sold 2,942 units of the Mobilio in the month of January 2015. 

Commenting on the company’s performance, Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., said,“January 2015 has been an extremely good month for HCIL. We registered our highest monthly domestic sales of this fiscal contributed by strong sales momentum for all the models. We are extremely thankful to our customers for their faith in us and we are confident of a strong performance through the year.”

With nearly 1.5 lakh units sold from April 2014 – January 2015 against against 101,370 unitsduring the corresponding period in FY 2013-14, the company registered an overall growth of 47 per cent.
