Bajaj Discover 150F

Bajaj Auto has high hopes on its recently launched Discover 150F and they have been successful in pricing the bike aggressively despite not omitting on features. We list down the top five features on the new Discover 150F. Also Read: Bajaj Discover 150F launch story

Bajaj Discover 150F DC headlamap

DC headlamp:

The DC headlamp feature on the Discover series on the now discontinued 125ST that was launched a few years ago. The new Bajaj Discover 150F is based on its erstwhile 125cc sibling and it carries forward the same lighting system on the new bike and Baja has to be commended for not omitting this feature to keep the pricing low. The main advantage of a DC headlamp is that the light beam is directly connected to the battery which means the spread of light is bright and constant even while rolling off the throttle.

Bajaj Discover 150F digital console

Digital console:

The Discover 150F shares most of its parts with the Discover 150S.Yet, Bajaj decided to endow the 150F with a part-digital-part analogue instrument console unlike the all-analogue console of its sibling. The 150F has an analogue speedometer and digital LCD screen that houses various information like fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter, clock and service indicator while we do miss a tachometer given the fact that the motor generates 14.5PS of power.

Semi-fairing:

The semi-fairing is the single element that endows the Discover 150F with a sporty visual appeal. Given the fact, that most Indian two-wheeler consumers associate performance with fairing, the Discover 150F should appeal to the fairing-fixated buyers. The semi-fairing does gel nicely with the silhouette of the bike and design similarity to the Honda Stunner can be easily made out. Also the fairing has a small mesh grille on the side, we aren’t sure is of any help in aerodynamics but it does look good.

Bajaj Discover 150F engine

4-valve engine and corrugated fins:

One of the biggest highlight of the Discover 150F is its new 145cc, air-cooled motor that generates 14.5PS of power. The motor has been equipped with 4-valves that assist in increasing the flow of air inside the engine. The advantage of 4-valve is that it improves the motor’s acceleration, fuel efficiency and also the engine can be revved higher. The mill also features corrugated fins that Bajaj claims helps in improving dissipation by up to 28 per cent and prevents the powerplant from overheating.

Bajaj Discover 150F monoshock

Monoshock suspension:

Since the Bajaj Discover 150F is based on the Discover 125ST, the monoshock suspension setup at the back has been retained. A conventional twinshock setup has the tendency to compress unequally under various load conditions whereas monoshock eliminates this possibility. The shock travels slower than conventional twinshock absorbers thereby providing better damping while also improving handling dynamics. Other advantages of monoshock suspension are that it is easier to adjust and it looks more visually pleasing.
