Volvo always had a chink in its armor and that’s its infotainment system. To address this problem, it had released an all new infotainment system christened the Sensus Connect. Now for 2014, the Swedish car manufacturer has updated this system with a few additional features. The most striking feature is that the new system in conjunction with cloud-based connectivity aids the driver in searching for parking and pay for their space from the comfort of their car.
It also helps the driver in locating new restaurants, streams the music according to preference and also has Pandora-streaming internet radio along with WiFi. Since it’s an android based system one can even pre-heat or pre-cool their vehicles from their smartphones through a remote start function. The new updated Sensus Connect will be available in its line-up of cars starting May 2014. Previous feature like Sensus Connected Touch, which turns the 7-inch display into a state-of-the-art infrared, beam-scanned touch screen so that one can use it while wearing gloves (a world first in cars) remains.
