With the advanced GPS (Global Positioning System) technology, the driver will have a prior hint of all the turns and obstacles on the road even before he takes a turn. A small red light will turn on inside the car, alerting the driver of impending danger.

The device will come packaged with features like live traffic reports, voice activated turn-by-turn navigation, touch screen controls on colourful, interactive maps and safety features including automated police contact when the car has been stolen.

GPS is a navigational aid originally developed for the army, forces and military and is used to search a particular location on the map. The technology uses a number of satellites to send and receive transmission data.

In-lined with the technology, the device installed in the vehicle interprets the signals from the satellites revolving around the earth’s orbit twice in a day. These satellites are monitored by ground stations located at various sites on earth which in turn update, verify and correct the navigational signals of the satellites and once they are verified and monitored, they are later received by the receivers installed in the vehicle.

This GPS system installed in cars provides useful information about the car’s actual position, best route to the destination, traffic areas and even display the time required to reach a particular destination. The driver just needs to target a location and the software will calculate the optimum distance and route immediately. Not only this, the device also aids in tracking the car mileage and speed.

With such innovations coming up, the auto industry has shown a paradigm shift from simple commuting to one that is full of comfort, luxury and ease.
