ET ZigWheels Awards 2014: Import Car of the Year Mini Cooper

With cars such as the Audi RS7, the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class and the new Mini Cooper nominated in this category, the judges knew that selecting one at the end of it as the winner is going to be a tough task. Each of the cars brought ace on the table to fight with.

The Audi RS7 with its swooping roofline is stunning to look at and when the 4.0-litre TFSI unit comes to life it gets even better. Next in line, was the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class that managed to make its way into the hearts of the judges with its practicality. And then, there was the Mini Cooper that offers a bit of youthfulness with an icing of sensibleness.

Considering the condition of most of our roads the GLA-Class was in fact the car that raced in the mind constantly. However, the Mini Cooper emerged dominant in the end as it not only touched the youthful side of the heart with its great driving dynamics and superb cabin fit, finish and design, but also managed to win hearts with its small proportions. It is fun to drive as well. The Mini Cooper thus took away the ET ZigWheels Awards 2014 Import Car of the Year title.
