Powertrain

The word powertrain in relation to automobile in its complete sense refers to the engine, transmission, driveshafts, differentials and the final drive or wheels of a car. Powertrain can also be used to refer to the engine and transmission of a car. Power train basically includes all the mechanical parts that produce power in an automobile and distribute it to the drive wheels of a car. The powertrain of a vehicle usually remains the same up to the final drive. The final drive can differ from vehicle to vehicle. Vehicles can be front wheel drive, rear wheel drive or all wheel drive.
