A lot of people nowadays know how to drive a car but very few people know how to correctly park a car. Read on to know more

Look for a parking spot that is large enough to park your car. Always remember if you do not care about your car it does not matter, the owner of the other car may love his car, do not bump into or scrape some one else’s car. After the gap has been identified, ease the car into the space, do not rush it, the car fits into the space better and more easily when you are calm. If you have just learned to drive a car, practice parking a car at home. Once you are used to it, it will be a lot easier to park in tight spots.

Make sure you leave enough space behind your car and in front of your car in case you are parking in the middle of two cars. That way the cars in front of you and behind you will find it easier to manoeuvre out of their parking spots and your car is saved from them bumping into it.

Always park the car in gear and leave the handbrake on. While parking on a uphill slope leave the car in first gear and leave the handbrake on. If you are parking on a downhill slope park in reverse gear and leave the handbrake on. This ensures that even if the handbrake cannot hold the car from rolling down the gearbox will not let the car roll down a hill.

A common courtesy that people ignore is that they hit the next car with their car doors while opening them. Make sure you do not do so. Do not try to fully open a car door to get in and out when you can’t anyway.
