Luxury may still be equated with long and elegant in India, but with the ever-increasing Mercs and Beemers on Indian streets, the elite with the sort of spending power to buy these imports may have a perception change.

Offering a less expensive and more stylish choice (a la the Fiat 500) in the luxury segment will be Volkswagen's 'people's carrier', which has now gone hep and chic. Coming through in 2009.
