Tata Indicruz

8 Jan 2009

Tata Indicruz

In India by: Mid-2009

Will cost: Rs 9-10 lakhs

2009 will mark Tata's foray into the MPV market with a new car based on the X-over concept called the Indicruz.

It will be based on the existing Safari platform and should be available with the 2.2-litre DiCOR common-rail diesel engine that has been doing rather well so far. Based on what we've seen Tata do with their new Indica Vista, we can expect the Indicruz to be fairly up-market, and will probably do well placed amongst its rivals, the new M&M Xylo and the Toyota Innova.

Other Cars to be launched in 2009
 New Nissan X-Trail  M M Xylo
 Toyota Fortuner

I think it will come with Indica Vista like Head lamps as compared to these beautiful looking vertical ones. | Reply

the one in concept stages looked much better. the headlights are more vertical now and don't hug the bonnet as before. why does it always happen that all great design elements are dropped in production versions? now it looks more like origami | Reply

Immediately u fall in love with the new Tata Indicruz mpv. It's great design. But note that Tatas have 2 compete with Mahindra and Toyota Products. Tatas have 2 go for very effective and aggressive marketing. The price seems 2 b on the higher side. Tatas Sumo Grande is not very popular because of it's design. It has 2 compete with Scorpio of M&M. | Reply

tata probably should have put the Safari platform to further use than just restrict it to the SUV.but even now,the platform isnt so old that its unusable, particularily since the platform is famous for its comfort and its cruiseliner like ability to smother everything in its path.furthermore,Tata has proved their ability to spawn off different products on te same platform n go on to make it a success, and indicruz is gonna continue that.this might be Tata's 1st success in te passenger segment in te export market.way to go Tata! | Reply

The car looks as good as the mpv's such as toyota previa / chrysler grand voyager / honda odyssey etc. But at least tata must come up with an automatic version even if they lack other facilites which can by find on similar models. Especially NRIs who are used to driving automatics will go for it only if it is an automatic | Reply

Tata Indicruz by looks and design styling, looks to be a great car for 21st. century, if it has similar features as Innova or more advanced n Hi-Tec, with good built quality for the price will sell like hot cakes and give a good boost to Tata-Motors image world over apart from India. | Reply

It looks great but if it has similar or better driving comfort as Inova then it will rock. | Reply
