Obama gets a new Caddy Limo!

US's newly elected President Barack Obama greeted his countrymen in an all-new Cadillac Presidential Limousine at the Inaugural Parade

US top luxury car-brand Cadillac, has come a long way since the time US President Wilson drove through the streets of Boston in 1919 greeting citizens during the World War I victory parade. Since then Cadillac has provided presidential limousines to almost every US President. During the beginning of this decade, Cadillac introduced the Deville Presidential model for President George Bush in 2001. In 2004, Cadillac developed an all-new design that went into production in 2005 on the DTS sedan after it was first introduced in 2004 by President Bush on the new DTS Presidential model.

Obama gets a new Caddy Limo!

USA's first African American President Barack Obama greeted Americans in the new Cadillac Presidential limousine continuing the long tradition of Cadillac vehicles serving the US presidents. The new limousine builds up on the DTS Presidential limousine introduced in 2004 and now incorporates the high-end technology and more sophisticated design that is specifically tailored for the President's requirements. The team behind the development of the car is small and works in a secure and tightly focused manner. The new limousine boasts of better outward technology due to more upright stance compared to its 2004 predecessor. The Presidential Limousine carries trademark Cadillac design cues like the intricate dual-textured front grille. The right front fender holds the US flag in place and the presidential standard is hoisted on the left fender when the president is traveling inside the car. In addition to this, the flags are illuminated in the night with high-tech LED spotlights.

The earlier Presidential cars were Cadillac production models that were later modified by independent limousine companies. The first Presidential Limousine produced in-house by General Motors and Cadillac was the 1993 Presidential Brougham made for then President Bill Clinton. It had specialised security features along with host of other tech-bits and this trend follows in the latest iteration of the Presidential Limousine as well.

Obama coud have chosen a modest car with necessary security features then going for such an expensive limo to set a good precedent during this time of recession. Anyway, goodluck to Obama and the rest of the Americans. | Reply
