Honda will look to capitalize on its leadership position in the entry-level luxury sedan segment by taking the battle to Skoda with a diesel version of the Accord.

The recently introduced 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine has been receiving rave reviews internationally, and should be doing the duty on the Accord, just like it will on the CR-V later this year. A souped up 3.5-litre V6 engine that the Accord receives internationally is also expected to make its Indian debut in 2009.
