Thieves stole a road in China

The world is a strange place indeed, and it isn’t short of some bizarre people as well. Our belief in this fact is reinstated with a shocking incidence that occurred in China where an entire 410-metre concrete road in Nantong, Jiangsu was stolen by thieves.

The public rural road located in eastern China was stolen in only two days by a couple of thieves who used an excavator and a truck to extract no less than 630 tons of concrete slabs. This theft was discovered by a villager who contacted the cops to enquire what had happened to the road.

The police then investigated this matter with the village committee who confirmed that they had not stripped off the road surface.  The local authorities than checked the CCTV cameras that were fixed along the roadside only to get a rude shock.

From the captured footage, the cops discovered that a farm vehicle was used to dump in the concrete slabs. A driver by the name of Gu was recognised to have conducted the crime.

The driver, however, had an incredible explanation to defend himself before the police. He stated that as this road was not often used, he thought he might dig out some stuff and make some money.

The thieves were very quick as they managed to sell the loot to a quarry, but the police managed to catch them before they could split away the money.
