Telangana CM KCR gets Rs 5 crore Mercedes-Benz bus

Indian politicians are known for their penchant for four wheels. Most of our leaders own luxury cars and gas-guzzling SUVs that chauffer them around in style. But, there is one politician who has gone a step ahead and is in news for his latest swanky purchase.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, also known as KCR, has recently purchased a Rs 5 crore Mercedes-Benz bus all at the expense of tax payers. His latest luxurious purchase has burnt a hole in the exchequer, though KCR has no qualms about it.

The 12-seater white Mercedes-Benz bus is equipped with a staircase which is connected to the roof, thus enabling KCR to make public appearances. The bus is Wi-Fi enabled and will enable the CM to hold meetings with officials and other ministers while on the move.

According to reports, KCR did not want a bedroom on-board and instead chose to use the free space as work area. Some reports also claim that the bus had been recommended by security agencies which favoured it over smaller bullet-proof vehicles as the larger room offered the CM the option of not getting off in high-risk zones.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also has a luxury bus which is provided by the government. He uses this bus on State tours.
