Shocking: Hema Malini injured in road accident in Jaipur; one child killed

Road accidents have made its ghastly presence felt a couple of times in Bollywood. This time the tinsel town is shocked with the news of veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini’s road accident. The 66-year-old actress turned politician’s Mercedes-Benz car rammed against a Maruti Alto in Jaipur, Rajasthan. A four-year-old girl who was an occupant in the Maruti Alto lost her life in this mishap.

There were five occupants in the Alto car into which the Mercedes rammed - two women, two children and a driver, according to reports. The girl child allegedly succumbed to the injuries in the Alto, while the two other occupants who were severely injured were rushed to SMS Hospital in Jaipur. The other two occupants are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dausa.

Hema Malini, on the other hand, was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Jaipur from the accident spot in Dausa, 60km from the capital, and underwent medical scans. Reports suggest that she was bleeding on the forehead area above the right eye.

Malini was reportedly proceeding to Jaipur from Mathura in her Mercedes-Benz while the other vehicle was proceeding to Lalsoth from Jaipur when the collision occurred. 

The 66-year-old actress turned politician has been hurt on her back, legs and on the forehead. Malini is currently doing fine and no major injuries have been reported so far.

The politician’s driver identified as Mahesh Thakur (35), a native of Vrindavan has been arrested and   booked under section 304-A of IPC which is a bailable offence. An FIR has been filed against him after the accident, according to reports.
