The sportscarmaker has stated that reckless driving and excessive speeding were the causes of the death of the Fast and Furious actor

Paul Walker

Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow Rain Walker, had pressed charges against Porsche, claiming that the sports car he was riding in had multiple design flaws and was at fault for the death of the Fast and Furious actor.

This law suit was filed recently, almost after two years of Walker’s death. According to the lawsuit, Meadow claims that the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT lacked safety features that are found on well-designed racing cars or even Porsche's least expensive road cars. Had the car been equipped with the safety features the accident could have been prevented or, at a minimum would have allowed Paul Walker to survive the crash.

Porsche responded to the lawsuit by stating that the company’s engineers had conducted a thorough investigation after the crash and found out that the vehicle had been altered from its original design state and had not been maintained properly.

The company also stated that the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT had nine-year-old tyres, while the police investigation concluded that Roger Rodas was driving approximately at 150 kmph in a 72kmph area.

Paul Walker gained international fame for playing Brian O'Conner, one of the lead protagonists, in the street racing action film The Fast and the Furious. Such was the fame that he garnered, that he went on to reprise the role in five of the seven sequels of the action flick.
