Meet this incredible Fiat car boat

While it is a known fact that cars are meant to rule the road and boats are meant for the water, Italian design firm Pininfarina had some wacky imagination up their mind. The car design firm built Eden Roc - a car that looks like a boat on a Fiat Multipla chassis.

Italian Industrialist and Fiat shareholder Gianni Agnelli wanted a special vehicle for moving guests from his house in Nice to the beach on the Mediterranean. Hence, the design firm Pininfarina was roped in for this job.

The car has no doors and has a teak bench passing for seats. The car was shown at the 1956 Paris Motor Show, where William Doheny, Chairman of Union Oil, spotted it and decided he wanted one. That car – the last of its kind built- was restored in 2008 and is up for auction this weekend through Gooding and Co.
