Indian tyremaker introduces new tyre; claims to go for over 1 lakh km

Apollo Tyres has introduced a high-mileage passenger car tyre christened the Apollo Amazer 4G Life, for the Indian market. This tyre has been developed jointly by the company’s Global R&D centres in Chennai, India and Enschede in Netherlands, especially for the mileage conscious customers and promises to run up to 1,00,000km and beyond.

The Apollo Amazer 4G Life tyre is being offered with two years unconditional warranty and would be available in five sizes initially. These tyres would be sold through Apollo Zones and other select dealers. The Apollo Amazer 4G Life is targeted towards the compact and mid segment cars and MUVs such as Maruti Swift and Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo, Toyota Etios, Honda City, the Honda Amaze, Maruti  Ertiga, Toyota Innova and Honda Mobilio.

Speaking about the new tyre, Satish Sharma, President, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, Apollo Tyres Ltd, said, “This tyre is a result of an intensive market study done by our internal team in the past 2-3 years to assess the gap in the tyres available in the market. This product gap, along with feedback from the customers, was utilised by our R&D team to develop this technologically advanced tyre, with superior longevity, especially for the Indian road conditions. Our controlled test results have proven that the tyre can go up to 100,000 kms and beyond.”

Available in T speed index, the company claims that its new tyre’s next generation tread compound and the six-layered protection improves resistance to cut/punctures, thereby ensuring durability. The robust buttress area decreases the likelihood of pinholes and micro punctures. The square footprint with equal pressure distribution provides longer life to the tyre and also results in even tread wear. In addition, to being simulated in the company’s Global R&D Centre, these tyres have also been tested on real life road driving conditions extensively.
