apan’s Maglev train recently clocked 603kmph making it the fastest train the world while the Bugatti Veyron Super Sports which is touted as the fastest production car in the world tops out at 431kmph

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sports is a marvel of engineering owing to the speeds it can achieve. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sports is powered by a 16.4-litre W-16 motor generating a whopping 1,200PS of peak power as opposed to 1,001PS of the standard car and peak torque rating stands at 1,500Nm. All these numbers enable the car to accelerate from o to 100kmph in less than 2.8 seconds and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sports has a top speed of 431kmph making it the fastest production car in the world and each car was sold at an eye-popping $2.4 million each. If you thought 431kmph was fast well there is a train that makes the mighty Bugatti Veyron look, ermm.., slow.

Japan's state-of-the-art Maglev train registered a top speed of 603kmph, yes you read that right, and it isn’t a typo! The test run was done near Mount Fuji when the Maglev train achieved this new record becoming the fastest train in the world. The erstwhile record was also held by the Maglev train when it clocked 581kmph in 2003. According to the Japanese railway officials, the seven-car Maglev train managed nearly 11 seconds at over 600kph. Maglev (derived from magnetic levitation) is a transport method that uses magnetic levitation to move vehicles without touching the ground. With maglev, a vehicle travels along a guide way using magnets to create both lift and propulsion, thereby reducing friction and allowing higher speeds.
