I have a Chevrolet Beat Diesel which I bought 3 months ago. I am about to go for my 2nd Car Service which is due after 5000km.I have a few queries regarding Oil change and Engine Warranty issues.1) Which engine oil is suitable for Beat Diesel?Chevrolet classification recommends 5W 30 ACEA A3/B4 grade oil.I have researched on internet and have come to know about following products which suit classification recommended by Chevrolet) Mobil 1 - 0W-40 and 5W-50b) Shell - Helix HX7 Diesel AV (5W-30) and Helix Extra and Ultra Extrac) Castrol - Edge Titanium (5W-40 or 10W-60)2) Is there any compulsion if we do not want to use Engine oil suggested by GM service center? I think GM is using TOTAL engine oil.3) Will it be any problem with the Engine Warranty if I use different make Engine oil and not from the GM Service Center?

It is always advisable to stick to manufacturer's recommendations so that your warranty does not become void. Once you are out of warranty you can experiment.
