I bought an XUV 500 in Jan... and has already clocked 9500 kms. I did not face any of the problem that are mentioned here and in all other reviews. Yes it is not a BMW or a SKODA. it is a very decent, powerful, car worth it's money... And please do not forget that we are getting this for less than half of cars that we tend to compare it with. I was not used to diesel engine and the gear ratio of this car took a little getting used to. Now I am comfortable riding this and believe me there is no knocking. I did some off roading in this car with 7 passengers in MUNNAR and all the participants were comfortable. The roll was not more than what one would feel in an ENDEAVOUR or FORTUNER on those terrains...

Never ever buy this car, it has just good looks but performance and after sales support is pathetic. In my lifetime I have never seen a new car developing serious engine defect with in 300 Kms of use.Just bought a new one a week back . Engine knocks like a autorickshaw. Asked for replacement , answer - Vehicle is registered we can repair or replace the engine but not car.Their senior management doesn't even bothers to reply to your complaint .Its better you buy any car on earth or even a second hand car than buying XUV 500.All it has is just good looks and good ad campaign to lure people.Their strategy is just to sell the car and once its sold turn blind eye to customer , what the hell he can do , he has paid for it . They will replace and repair every thing in less than three months , so why to buy a new XUV ,you can buy any old car that would perform better

hi this is mohammed urooj from bangalore we brought mahindra xuv 500 w8 . it has been 6 months taking the car we are facing problems in the car . the problems are of brakes,gears. we called many time to the service centre n we gave it 2 times to servies . but there is no respons from the service center . the service centre name is indian garage. we have the worst experience of buying xuv 500 . we even complaint to the main office of mahindra ,even they said that they will gives us a call but no respons. we have a innova they give us such a good service. we din't except this kind of services from mahindra.

Serious value for money car. Ultra refined engine and appreciable fuel efficiency. I have a W8 2wd variant and haven't had any problem yet. 9000 kms done. Interiors are a little downside but overall, no other car can match the features list in this price segment.

i love this vehicle from its first launch. I feel the ride is too much comfortable and cozy inside. If u run any car for more then 25000 km u can get that problem specially for any high torque vehicle... and then u hv to just invested 22k in clutch then also its very economic compare to all other cars with this many feature. no one can get a better car then this by paying just 50k extra. its really value for money

xuv 500 having major cluch problem . after buying the xuv its started within 500 km and within 25000 Km my cas Kluch plate burnt compancy says that ( deal Silver jubli Pune ) there is no warenty against cluch plate i spent 22500 for cuch plate without my Mistake servicing of this car i do as per sedule

Asked a mahindra executive about all the problems mentioned here and other sites. He said the first batch of vehicles released had some common issues (like stated above), but they have been addressed in the new batches wont be problems anymore. I am taking a test drive tomorrow. I have a long check list to tick :). Hope that guy is right...

Xuv is too costly and very huge. I'd rather go for the new Alto 800 or the Premier RiO which is compact, perfect for Indian Roads and gives me the perfect amount of space with folding of the back seats to make a lot of room for kids , overnights or lot of luggage.
