Renault Duster - made like a Maruti car. The features and kitchen sink are all there, you've just got to find them. I wouldn't be surprised if they launched a truck to compete with Navistar in 6 months, at 7.5 lakhs. Good times for scrap dealers and old paper marts across the nation.

Mr. Kiran Wakde
Please help to advice if Duster 2013 going to come with changes in interiors?

Hard clutch.

Took a test drive :Good points: Good/great ground clearance. Ride handling, and uniform power distribution. What I did not like: Noisy AC. Rear AC. Lack of projection Lamps. Rear AC is like a projection and keeps poking the elbow, each time gear change is needed. Very irritating. Music system > Not so good. AC is noisy and very ineffective.

once you buy you will come to know its maintanance cost one single fuse is costing 132 rs rear view mirror is costing not less than 2000 rs rest you can imagine yourself . Moreover spare parts are also not available in the market.

The rear AC is oddly positioned and does take away the third passengers leg space and is a major downside to this vehicle. Otherwise a superb vehicle.

Had a look at d Duster....the Diesel110 PS top end version.....impressive performance. The Drive is good and so is-pick up,handling n braking .. .....Dicky is big...engine bay is top class with all the Renault stuff-Sebastien Vettel would vouch for that...19 plus kms of .claimed mileage as per ARAI certification is phenomenal...Seats are fabulously comfy n supportive...typically .strong european build that can last through a war....good ground clearance of 205 mmThe drawbacks that I noticed were....plastics inside are not worthy of a 13 lakh car....rear seat leg room is just about adequate therefore definitely a No No for six footers ....lateral space in the front is limited due intrusion of the switch panel on the door side and the central console on the other side........ the rear AC has only one vent so if there are two rear passenger than which way would you like to direct the AC flow...... the clutch is a little hard so women may find it difficult.....Service interval is 10000 kms which is pretty good.If one is willing to overlook some of the typically French quirky styling then overall, in the Indian context, The Duster is a definite "value for money" proposition and a sure shot nightmare for the competition. Renault may have to get together its act of having more showrooms...

Reduce boot and increase intermediate space. Rest the vehicle wid 110 ps is very good on drive.

Better_Review
Hi,I saw this review and got impressed by it, but the actually its the most pathetic SUV's i have seen. Apart from the 110 dci engine their is nothing good about this car. Please don't give paid review and don't give a wrong impression to people. The interiors are so bad, i didn't want to sit in this SUV for a test ride.Rode the 84ps one and can easily feel the lag.Trust me you cannot reach out to the A/C knobs while driving.Note : The zigwheels reviewer, don't give review for the auto companies, give the review for the consumer.

India is a price sensitive market. Ultimately, what will probably decide the whether the Duster makes a clean sweep of its rivals or gathers dust in the showroom will be aggressive pricing. With mass rapid transport expansion not happening as it should (at least in Mumbai), cars/SUVs are the only viable long term option for the average Indian family's commute.

Have noticed that there r no water bottle holders inset in any of the doors.India being a tropical country where mostly the sun is up and while travelling on long trips this convenience is absent.4

Though the vehicle seems to be very good, the important minus point is the rear seating. They should have reduced the boot space and made the leg room better for more comfort. This might prove fatal for DUSTER market unless rectified immediately.

EcoSport engine was selected as the best in the world so Duster needs to keep this mind as the EcoSport be pitched against the Duster. Personally, look wise I prefer the Duster. Duster is a proven model in Europe.

1500cc engine with 85 PS of power is less powerful than the Swift and the Manza.
Vivek
I disagree with the both of you as you guys have no idea what you are talking about! Power to weight? you suggesting that the swift is heavier than the Duster? And well 85 PS is not the most powerful engine out there but should be more than adequate for most requirements. These arguments seem to be more the ramblings of armchair enthusiasts
seawolf
sorry to say but this shows how much u know about engines n power to weight ratios....

I think this car is going to sweep the market. Firstly, because it is a car inside and an SUV outside. Secondly, it is an off-roader and suitable for long drives. It will give an additional sense of security on long drives. I have personal experience of using the Renault Logan on long drives. It was very economical and no problems on hills. So this 5 seater should be a success as people will prefer spacious interiors and more headroom.

Are they going to launch a automatic variant?
-

Welcome Renault Duster.
-
shripal
Automatic version is a MUST. Handling such big SUVs city traffic. Also nowadays roads in INDIA have improved so i feel AUTOMATIC should be part of the stable.
-
pankaj
Any Ides when the 4X4 version is being launched?
-
saurabh
Pricing will be the key for Duster. Duster if priced above entry level scorpio / xylo , will ruin its Indian career. It needs to be priced below 7 lacs else Maruti Ertiga will steal the show.

Duster is definitely one of the keenly awaited launches this year. At AutoExpo also it generated quite a buzz. However, its success would completely hinge on hitting the sweet spot around price.
-
Harpreet Singh Bhatia
Its more like an urban comapct SUV. It would be a great city vehicle but it would not be a serious off-roader or vehicle for the hills.
-
ravi
Duster with out 4X4, soon EcoSport will capture the market with its refined petrol engine and shape. Renault making a big mistake again in India.
