The Ritz was designed on the outside and inside to accomplish
a well-rounded and family oriented car. Here's the whole deal.
Suzuki has been upping the ante consistently in terms of design
as far as its international models go. Be it the Swift, the A-Star/Alto
or now the Ritz/Splash, the focus has been on staying contemporary
by global design standards, and yet retaining the practicality and
functionality.
Since the Ritz was conceived as a sporty family hatchback, the
exterior makes sure that the car exudes enough pep and energy. Keeping
proportions in line with the tall-boy design is difficult, but the
Ritz manages it thanks to the strong fenders, flowy and tapering
window and roof lines and that unique rear end design.
If sporty is theme on the outside, usability is the theme once
the doors shut. The Ritz has Maruti Suzuki moving to a console mounted
gearshift for the first time, staying in line with international
trends. The cue is expected to fit in well with the relatively tall
seat height of the driver's seat.

The cabin carries a decidedly upmarket look and feel to it, but again
bends towards sporty as opposed to being overly elegant. The dashboard
mounted tachometer that was first seen on the A-Star has been shifted
to the left of the driver, adding a funky piece to the driver's field
of vision.
The tall boy design has given designers lots of space to play with despite
using the familiar Swift chassis. Ingress and egress has been eased, and
a higher driving position means better road visibility - especially useful
in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The final outcome is a 24mm increase in front
headroom, a sizeable 31mm increase in rear headroom and marked benefits
in front and rear knee room as well.
Being an internationally accepted model, the Ritz also comes with global
safety standards. The lightweight body structure is equally rigid and
comes with shock-absorbing crumple zones. Depending on variants, the Ritz
will also come with airbags, ABS, EBD, collapsible steering wheel column
and seat belt pre-tensioners.
