Tata Indicruz

Tata Indicruz

In India by: Mid-2009

Will cost: Rs 9-10 lakhs

2009 will mark Tata's foray into the MPV market with a new car based on the X-over concept called the Indicruz.

It will be based on the existing Safari platform and should be available with the 2.2-litre DiCOR common-rail diesel engine that has been doing rather well so far. Based on what we've seen Tata do with their new Indica Vista, we can expect the Indicruz to be fairly up-market, and will probably do well placed amongst its rivals, the new M&M Xylo and the Toyota Innova.

TATA is at the stage when TOYOTA started its business of Manufacturing Cars in 1937 and now after 73 year they are reliable name in auto industry. Where as TATA started building truck since 1954 and entered in to passenger vehicle production in 1991. So comparing these WE INDIANS should be feel proud of what TATA has achieved. I believe in another 10-20 years TATA will be popular world wide if they stick to excellence and quality product such as TOYOTA | Reply

As good as it looks, it is still Tata....Buy the car and be sure to see your car more in the garage than on the road. Maintenance on my Safari is 5 times higher than my brother's Innova. | Reply

Correct! My new Indica is less on the road and more in the service center. So many problems in a small tata vehicle. Who knows what will happen in such a big tata vehicle. | Reply

Dear all, It's something great to know that we are having a national fervor rushing thru our adrenaline when we see all yr comments congratulating TATA, but yes what about Quality...in terms of Engine, its NVH,suspension, handling,I feel the Body, style, looks good compared to the Innova, but lots is reqd to do for TATA in the interiors Trims, Engine, I dont think this is from the Italian Fiat Stable???.As such yes Xylo is good but loses on engine | Reply

All vehicles in the market are by and large good but what happens to the customer after sales?? Thats something that TATA needs to answer? Their "After Sales" service are pathetic! Visit the dealer near Chinchwad Branch and check for yourself the nexus between Insurance agents and dealers!! | Reply

Its looking really attractive, but tata has always lacked on the quality front. And if they offer a really competitive quality, this is surely going to take over innova. And for overcoming xylo, they'll have to keep it in 7-8 lac bracket. ALL THE BEST | Reply

Dear All,Let us congratulate Tata for bringing a very contemporary looking vehicle to Indian market. By look wise it is as good as a chrysler grand voyager, Honda Odyssey or Toyota Previa etc. I do not no the technical specs about this vehicle. But this is a very neat looking vehicle. I wish Tatas all the success for bringing us this good looking vehicle. Xylos and Innovas are really eye sores though their quality may be good. | Reply
