We compare the two biggest, baddest V-twin motorcycles available in the country, the Suzuki Intruder M1800R and the Yamaha MT-01. Which of these has the biggest muscle? Which is hotter? Read on...
There are motorcycles and then there are MOTORCYCLES! Big, bad-ass machines that make the rider feel like the king of the world, while exuding a sense of menace when they go by, scaring young women and making little children cry. Yes, we're talking about none other than the Yamaha MT-01 and Suzuki Intruder, two of the biggest, heaviest, largest displacement motorcycles this side of the world. In a market filled to the brim with under quarter-litre commuters sprinkled with a miniscule number of litre-class sports bikes, both the Suzuki Intruder and Yamaha MT-01 stand a class apart. Both bikes are large-capacity V-twin torque monsters that are designed to snap your neck when you snap the throttle open, but they couldn't be more different in character.

So how do they really differ?
Right of the bat, it is easy to understand the primary differences between the two bikes. While both of them ooze of styling excess, the Intruder is a full blown power cruiser - feet forward, arms outstretched. Swing your leg over and settle into the low seat, and it is clear that the Intruder is meant for riders who like to throw their chests (and caution) to the wind. The MT-01 is a completely different animal. Clamber aboard the high perch of the seat, and its true nature dawns upon you. The straight wide handlebars, pulled-back foot pegs are all the classic hallmarks of a naked street bike. The riding position should be naturally more familiar to most of us in this country, though the proportions may not be.
