Nissan has been calm and quiet with its presence in India thus far, but 2009 could mark a change in its fortune.

Its internationally popular supermini - the Micra - will be up for an international upgrade in February, and the critical piece of information is that it will be manufactured in the company's Chennai facility. No wonder then that the Micra promises to be Nissan's next big offering in India. With a 1.2 and 1.3-litre petrol and also Nissan's 1.6-litre diesel engine options, this could be the car to turn the Japanese manufacturer's fortunes around in India.

    car looks cool. I am interested in diesel engine. Tyre size is also 14" which means road clearence would be v.good and the car would have a high stance. Nissan is known for mini cars and famous for small engines. After sales service is a major concern. Lets see. | Reply

    I Belive its a car for one who loves beetel but cant get one coz its very xpensive n has a lot of buyer who luvs new shapes n innovation....Hope 1.6 diesel version is not so xpensive | Reply

    I am very impressed with looks of Nissan Micra and guess Petrol/Diesel Engine will be d best under hood.Pricing looks good.Plan to buy this car but waiting for launch date..this car will give tough pricing competition for others even Maruti. | Reply

    With crowded indian Mini Car market , so far none has come with a good small model and reasonable price .As an NRI know the value of Nissan , if it comes with automatic .Its delayed entry no problem , will catch the indians mind very fast . Awaiting for the arrival and postoning my purchase . It is a true value for Money | Reply
