Shrabani Das 25 Nov 2009

Scorpio-7

Mahindra Scorpio

As you click from one page to another, to see the SUVs ruling the Indian market were you missing something? We know what you are looking for? Everyone's all-time favourite Mahindra Scorpio. Don't worry we wont let you down. For it is among the list of our favourites too. When this SUV was launched first, it became an instant hit and created a wave of enthusiasm among young professionals. After the vehicle got revamped with a new engine and a new grill, this surely looks aggressive and commanding. And the Price? Rs 7.35 lakhs ( Ex showroom Delhi) to begin with. Not bad we say!!

Out of all scorpio is the best for the price. The ride is smooth, spacious and less road noise. Interior does not look cheap. I own a Lexus RX350 and have driven most of the luxury SUVs. Scorpio really surprised me. | Reply

  • Shrikant Atre (20 December 2009 23:05)
There also are a few good SUVs like BMW X series available in India and add to it VW tourig newly launched. But where are the Sales for such over priced SUVs ? The one that does well and is still missing in your list is Hyundai Tucson, it is value for money. And it is still not pulled off like the Subaru/GM Forrester which could not sell well. So was Hyundai's Terracan which could not sell and if we dug out dead ones, Tata Sierra was the one there, which had sold better unit nos than any of these models. If one has to enjoy all goodies and 4x4, even the small heart Maruti Gymni or newly coming Premier Rio are good choices as Mini-SUVs, mind you that this segment once did well and will do well again ! | Reply

Tata Safari, with a Price Tag of 11 -12 Lakhs and newly improved mileage of 11 KmPl is the best option. You can get service all over the India due to good network of TATA | Reply

I live in Fairfax county, one of the richest in the Nation. Most Working Americans here own ONE CAR and are still paying for it. Your source is a garden of misinformation! America is moving towards hybrids and economy cars, India, sad to say, picks up what the Western World discards. India has the advatage not to commit the same errors and learn from Americas mistakes. | Reply

I am not indian nor do I live in india but been to india and I live in north America for the last 8 year originally from a rich African country. I must say that you are suffering the same colonial mentality and being mis-informed by hollywood. The average American owns only one car. They are struggling they pay for it in 48 to 60 months. Do not be deceived. | Reply
