Jaguar & Land Rover

Jaguar Portfolio

Jaguar Land Rover - as the business is termed in the UK, is a different and very high profile animal however. What it has got going for itself in the real world - read that as Europe and the US, its biggest markets by far, is traditional British craftsmanship coupled to a great engineering heritage which has been bolstered mightily by Ford's engineering expertise and systems. If that is not all, the new breed of big cats, both in saloon and coupe forms, are not just noticeable because they are not German but because they do take the fight to the Germans and are not disgraced in the skirmish.

Jaguar's product portfolio today includes the XFR saloon and the XKR grand tourer, the latter available in both closed coupe and open-topped cabriolet body styles. Both these cars are highly accomplished and in fact the recent models have gained a fan following notably for their dynamic prowess making them as potent a match to the likes of the BMW M5 and the Porsche 911. Yes this is serious stuff indeed and totally unthinkable just five years ago but the new found engineering zeal has seen Jaguar pull out not all but many stops to get into a position of reckoning against the might of BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

Jaguar will offer the XFR and the XKR to discerning enthusiasts in India via the CBU route. The XFR saloon range begins at Rs 63 lakhs while the Ferrari and Porsche rivaling XKR sports coupe gets going from Rs 92 lakhs onwards. And just if there are those who want to have an even more exclusive big cat on wheels, the highly personalized Autobiography treatment would see you shelling out a crore of rupees for the Jag of your choice!
