The Hyundai Sonata started off pretty well in India thanks to the flashy looks but the demand sizzled out with time.

I know someone who bought this car in the US for ~$24K. This works out to ~Rs.11.5K. Can we exoect this kind of pricing in India? I feel that manufacturers are taking us for a ride. | Reply

Melvilletwo reasons for this. First sonata may not b manufactured here, it may be importd as CKD, ven if manufactured, it may not b localized enough to bring down cost.The less localization may be becoause of less demand.2) Most companies want to sell their crap to third world countris as gold. Thats what MCdonald did whn it came to India. Junk food outlet, which is one of cheapest food in US came as premium outlet in India.Same with hyundai accent, which is cheapest car in US, being sold as a premium sedan in inda | Reply

Really needs to be priced around 12 lacs as the cruze has already a tag of 12 ( approx. ) and Maruti's Kizashi is also expected to be priced around 12 lacs may be launched in mid 2010 or late 2010. This Sonata has got the best looks as compared to Kizashi , Cruze and if not mistaken then even better looks than Accord and Camry as well. visit google for new Sonata images and see yourself. | Reply
