India's Best Cars Under Rs 10 Lakh

Mid-level hatch competitors

1). Hyundai i10

Chervolet Aveo

Now amongst India's top 5 selling cars, the Hyundai i10 has taken the country's urban streets by storm. Its contemporary looks, great interiors and refinement make it one of the country's favourite small cars currently. The only problem is that the affordable 1.1-litre engine is somewhat underpowered, and the more up-to-date 1.2-litre Kappa engined variant is expensive enough to challenge larger hatches.

2). Fiat Palio Stile

The Palio Stile is a great example of how a well-designed car can get undone by underpowered and unrefined powerplants. With the 1.6-litre engine the Palio used to be the enthusiast's first choice, but with the 1.1-litre fiat engine, the car leaves a lot to be asked for. Refinement is low, build quality tentative and stonk and go even lower. The car is good on space though, and offers the most in its class in that respect.

ZEN was gold. Maruti killed their own top seller by modifying it (2003) .Earlier versions before the face lift really rock. The jelly bean car - No other car of Maruti is anywhere near that old ZEN. | Reply

I too agree with Nisheeth. I am using Maruti 800 since 2 years, still I didnt faced any problem in the car. Maruti needs very less maintenance. In future, I will opt for Maruti's SX4. | Reply

Thats true I agree with you EPP Nambiar, Maruti Suzuki is a better choice as compare to Hyundai. In terms of car maintenance, service center's and all. I am using Maruti Suzuki Estilo from past 2 years no problem at all. I drove 30,000 KM in last 2 years | Reply

The security feature provided in a car is most important. When you visit any Maruti or Hyundai show room just open the bonnet secondly open the door of the car and feel the weight. You can feel the quality of the car. In this regard I feel that Maruti is the worst car that any security conscious person can purchase. At the last How many ambassador car you have seen badly damaged in any kind of accident on the high way ? compare the number with Maruti cars and you will get the answer! | Reply

I dont trust Hyundai. Spares are expensive. Maintenance cost is high. Performance is okay. Still, Maruti Suzuki is a better option. Their service network is unbeatable. Swift is the best. Go for a test drive and say " wow" | Reply
