The Mercedes-Benz Travego has walked away with the coveted 'Coach of the Year 2010' title at the recently held international bus and coach fair, "Busworld Kortrijk", in Germany.
For Mercedes-Benz this title helps in reinstating their market domain of being quality coach builders. The Travego is a vehicle that follows on the Mercedes-Benz philosophy of quality control and of course safety measures play a paramount part. The coach boasts of ABS, ASR, Lane Keeping Assist, Proximity Control Systems, and Active Brake Assist (ABA), Incidentally, this is the first time ever that ABA is being used on a coach and its ability to help mitigate rear end collisions with slower moving vehicles up front is noteworthy.

In order to win the award, the Travego passed a rigorous test conducted at the Coach Euro Test with a panel of experts from 17 European countries. It passed a test drive routine as well as the scrutiny in terms of efficiency, safety, environmental friendliness, comfort, ride and handling. Touted as one of the harshest tests for coaches, it comes as no surprise that Mercedes-Benz is elated by winning this award.
