Hyundai's i20 Fan Club

Vikram Gour 13 Jan 2010

Buying a Car ? Get Best Deal

The Hyundai i20 has made major inroads in the Indian car market and its inherent good looks coupled with great drivability and comfort has lead to the i20 developing somewhat of a star status.

In a bid to capitalize on this feature, Hyundai has launched the i20 Fan Club which will bring together like minded people on a single platform in order for them to share their individual experiences with the car.

The i20 Fan Club, better known as the 'Uber Trooper' Fan Club can be accessed online at www.ubertroopers.com. Apart from i20 fan followers, the website will also be a great resource to get a first hand owners view about the premium hatch. No doubt, Hyundai expects this initiative to proactively create an aura around the i20 as there is no tool more powerful than an owner's viewpoint.

Speaking about the fan club, Arvind Saxena, Director, Marketing & Sales, HMIL, said, "At Hyundai our goal is to be even more customer-focused, especially in today's challenging environment, where it is important for us to demonstrate how well we understand our customers. With this thought in mind, we proactively launched the i20 Fan club which will help us reach out to the target audience in the digital space. The online interactions of the Fan Club will lead to better bonding between the customers and the company and exchange of ideas and suggestions which should help us engage the customers in a more interesting and meaningful way".

Membership to the i20 fan club will initially be offered to all i20 customers and the initial benefits of being part of this club will include activities such as IPL parties, Drive-in Movies, free car washes and organized road trips. Hyundai promises that there will be something interesting happening throughout the year which also includes contests, discount offers and a chance to get some neat accessories as well.

i20 petrol has the kappa engine at a higher state of tune and is under powered for a car of its size. It is not definitely value for money. | Reply

I have been owning an i20 CRDi for the last 5 months. I am facing several problems with the car since day one.a) The steering has become extremely stiff b) Noise inside the cabin from the rear video mirrorc) Rattling noises from the rear of the car. I am unable to predict how the steering reacts at a point of time. I have been to the service center several times and they have not been able to fix the problem. I am extremely saddened and depressed after paying a huge amount of Rs 8.2 lakhs towards the car. My car resides more in the service center than with me. I would not recommend anyone to buy i20. | Reply

Hi Apoorva, I have been complaining to the company since day one, but the problem is yet to be fixed. Last week I gave the car for repairs and 2nd service and the service center took 5 days but gave the car back to me in the same condition. Again yesterday I have left the car in another service center hoping they will fix the car at least this time around :(. | Reply
