HMSI has kitted its Aviator scooter with a new engine and other upgrades from the newly launched Activa. The new Aviator now comes with a competitive price tag too!
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has been at the top of the Indian scooter space for a while now, thanks to the Activa and the Dio that have become veritable brand names in themselves now. Banking on the success of the two, Honda went ahead and launched the Aviator in early 2008, aiming for the male market. A timely upgrade to the Aviator has now been launched, with a new engine and features, aimed at giving sales a new boost.
Recently, the company had launched the revamped Activa with remodeled looks and a new 110cc engine. The same engine has now been transplanted on to the new Aviator, claiming not only a power bump-up to 8bhp, but also improved fuel efficiency. The new engine will also be cleaner in terms of emissions, and will comply with the BS-III emission norms due to be implemented in April next year.
Other additions include a redone instrument console that is now surrounded by body-coloured plastics. The Aviator's USPs which include the telescopic suspension at the front along with the disc brake have been retained, and the new Aviator also comes with the Combined Braking System to make the ride safer.
The basic version has been priced at Rs 42,160 for the base version and Rs 47,160 for the fully loaded version with alloy wheels.
